If I were starting our homestead over today, I wouldn't do it the way I did the first time.

After six years at Magnolia Hill, there are things I would absolutely do again... and a few things I would change in a heartbeat. From choosing our house and the amount of land, to raising animals, finding community, choosing our location and even how I would document the journey, hindsight has taught me quite a bit.

Some of the lessons cost us time and money. Others simply came from living here long enough to understand what we really need.
