This is the most nourishing thing I make all day

This is the most nourishing thing I make all day.

Every single ingredient has a purpose - I don’t just throw things into a blender, I build this based on what my body needs.

This shake has become my go-to meal… especially when I want something simple, grounding, and deeply supportive.

The base

I start with a clean protein source:

Organic pea protein (chocolate)

This gives me:

  • plant-based protein for muscle and repair

  • sustained energy

  • something that actually satisfies me

As a vegetarian, this is one of the easiest ways for me to make sure I’m getting enough protein without overthinking it.

Building the nutrient density

This is where it becomes more than just a protein shake.

I add:

Collagen peptides

  • supports skin, joints, hair, connective tissue

Chia seeds

  • fiber, omega-3s, hydration support

Hemp hearts

  • complete plant protein + healthy fats

Bee pollen

  • incredibly nutrient-dense, supports energy and seasonal resilience

Ground apricot seeds

  • used in very small amounts as part of traditional wellness practices

Dulse flakes

  • a natural source of trace minerals from the sea

Living silica

  • supports skin, hair, nails, and connective tissue

The mineral layer

This part is huge… and often missing in most diets.

I add:

  • trace mineral drops

  • liquid iodine (food-grade, safe for internal use)

  • micromineral boron drops

These support:

  • thyroid function

  • hormone balance

  • nervous system regulation

  • cellular hydration

This is where a lot of people start to feel a difference… when the body finally has the raw materials it’s been missing.

Fresh additions

Then I bring in real, living food:

Farm-grown blueberries

  • antioxidants, brain support, anti-inflammatory

Sometimes:

  • microgreens (for a concentrated burst of nutrients)

  • or half a banana (for creaminess and natural sweetness)

Bringing it together

I blend everything with:

  • ice

  • about 2 cups cold filtered water

And that’s it.

Simple… but incredibly powerful.

Why I use this as a meal

This shake replaces a full meal for me (often dinner).

It gives me:

  • protein

  • fats

  • minerals

  • fiber

  • trace nutrients

All in one place.

Instead of trying to piece everything together throughout the day… this becomes a moment where I know I’ve covered my bases.

How it supports the body

When you look at this as a whole, it supports:

  • stable energy (protein + fats)

  • digestion (fiber + hydration)

  • skin and connective tissue (collagen + silica)

  • hormone balance (minerals + healthy fats)

  • brain function (omega-3s + trace nutrients)

It’s not about one “superfood.”

It’s about how everything works together.

A gentle reminder

This isn’t medical advice.

This is simply what I’ve learned works for my body.

I always encourage you to:

  • listen to your body

  • adjust ingredients as needed

  • and, if possible, work with a naturopath to get your hormones and bloodwork tested

That piece alone changed everything for me.

Finding out I have the MTHFR gene mutation and EDS helped me understand why my body needed deeper support… and allowed me to build routines like this with intention.

Pairing this with my morning ritual

If you’re curious what I drink first thing in the morning (instead of coffee), I shared my full recipe for my Morning Mineral Tea in another post.

That’s where my day begins.

This is how I sustain it.

Final thoughts

This shake is all about nourishment for me. It’s creating consistency, and learning my body over time.

You don’t have to start with everything.

Even starting with a clean protein, fruit, and a few minerals can make a difference.
