WHAT IS THE FARM STAND TRAIL?
The Farm Stand Trail is a self-guided experience that connects visitors and locals to small, seasonal farm stands across Western Kentucky.
Each stop is independently run by local growers, homesteaders, and families offering fresh produce, eggs, baked goods, flowers, and handmade items - often from honor-system roadside stands.
It’s not a single destination.
It’s a journey through the countryside.
HOW IT WORKS
The Farm Stand Trail is designed to be simple and flexible:
• Use the interactive map to explore participating stands
• Drive at your own pace along scenic rural roads
• Visit as many or as few stops as you like
• Each stand is unique and changes with the season
There is no set route - every visit is a different experience.
WHAT YOU’LL FIND ALONG THE TRAIL
Depending on the season and each stand, visitors may discover:
• Fresh, locally grown produce
• Farm fresh eggs
• Baked goods and pantry items
• Flowers and seasonal plants
• Handmade and homegrown goods
• Self-serve honor system farm stands
Each stop reflects the personality and rhythm of the land it comes from.
WHY THE FARM STAND TRAIL EXISTS
The Farm Stand Trail was created to help connect people more directly to local food, local farms, and the rural communities of Western Kentucky.
It Exists To:
• Support small farms and local growers
• Encourage exploration of the countryside
• Strengthen community connections
• Offer a slower, more meaningful way to shop and explore
• Highlight the hidden beauty of rural backroads
This is more than food - it’s an experience, a connection, and place to explore.
CURRENTLY ON THE TRAIL
We feature 20+ farm stands, with more joining each season.
The trail continues to grow as new stands are added across the region.
